Cookie Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026 — Under Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 and EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR)

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites send to the user’s browser and that are stored on the device. They let the site recognise the browser on later visits, for example to remember the language you chose.

Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when the browser closes) or persistent (kept for a set period), and set by the site you visit (first-party) or by others (third-party). Besides cookies, a site can store data on your device with other browser tools (local storage, session storage, cache): this page describes them all.

2. Cookies used by this site

Technical / necessary cookies

Always on

Essential for the site to work. They require no consent under Art. 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 and the Italian Data Protection Authority’s guidelines of 10 June 2021.

NamePurposeDurationType
rs-localeRemembers the language you chose12 monthsFirst-party

rs_guest_sessionGuest access to the private content of the stay, only if you open your stay link. HttpOnly, signedUntil the end of the stayFirst-party

Visit statistics

No cookies

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies or other identifiers on your device and does not identify the visitor: it collects only aggregate data, such as page views, device type, country and referrer. That is why it needs no consent. It is the site’s only statistics tool: we do not use Google Analytics.

Analytics, marketing and profiling cookies

Not used

The site does not use third-party analytics, marketing or profiling cookies. That is why you are not asked for consent and no cookie banner appears. Should we ever introduce any, we would enable them only after your explicit consent and update this page.

3. Other data stored on your device

These tools are technical too: they only serve the app’s functioning, stay on your device and are not used to track you.

NameToolPurposeDuration
rs-themeLocal storageCopy of the theme preferenceUntil you delete it
rs-install-dismissedSession storageRemembers that you closed the “install the app” hintUntil the tab is closed
romestays-static-*, romestays-runtime-*Service worker cachePublic pages and assets so the app also works offline; never the private areas (Wi-Fi, stay links and session)Until you clear the site data

4. Third-party cookies

The site sets no third-party cookies and embeds no scripts that set them (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Pixel). The map (OpenFreeMap) and the statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) use no cookies.

If you pay the tourist tax online you move to Stripe’s pages (checkout.stripe.com), which use their own cookies under their own policy (stripe.com/privacy). The same applies to external services you open from a link, such as Google Maps or WhatsApp.

5. Managing cookies

You can manage or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings:

Please note: disabling technical cookies may stop parts of the site from working, such as access to the private content of your stay.

6. Contact

For any request about cookies and the processing of personal data, contact the data controller:
